Mark’s Writing Motto #29

There are times in a writer’s life when there are moments of stagnation. But rest assured, it’ll be a brief pause. Just remember, that you as a writer cannot use up creativity. It’s something that’s in you; the more times you use it means the more you have. A writer’s creativity well is ever flowing, so tap into it. There are no limits, no boundaries, so set your mind free.

Happy New Year

As 2020 winds down, my resolution for the new year is to continue to have “HOPE” despite everything that life throws at me. Hope is a powerful motivator, a life-affirming feeling and a force to be reckon with if properly sent out into the world. Darkness cannot exist without light, so keep that spark of hope alive…have faith that everything will turn out all right. Ignite the eternal optimist within you!

I’m Just Me

I’m just a writer. I might not be the best, most talented, creative, highly inspirational or eloquent writer in the world but I’m unique and special in my own quirky way. If I find success along the way, then that’s good. But if not, I’ll continue doing what I love to do and write to my heart’s content and relish in developing my craft.

Our Prose

Our stories, our poetry,
our quotes, our haikus,
our sonnets, our songs,
our memoirs, our blogs…

the prose we choose
are the crumbs
we as writers
sprinkle all over the world
for hungry minds
to help gather
inspiration
and
perspectives
into the betterment
of their well-being

Mid-Life Reflections #13

It’s been awhile since I stopped and took time to reflect on the things happening in my life. Since this COVID-19 chaos, everything has been up in the air and all my daily routines have been thrown out of whack. But my optimistic trait has me seeing a positive side to all of this. Having this pandemic happen has given me the opportunity to actually stop my life and take into account all the good things that are around me. I am fortunate to be a lot closer with my family, both in proximity and in relationships. I value life more, regardless of all the obstacles that are in my way. I’m appreciative of being able to stop and take notice of nature and how it continues to progress regardless of what goes on in my life. And most of all, I’m just happy to be here in this moment, knowing that I have had good memories despite all of the negative aspects associated with this virus. This will pass because there cannot be darkness without light. So I continue to have hope and treasure every breath I take.

All That You Are

When it comes to your writing,
never play it safe
Push your boundaries
Put pressure on yourself
to be great
Become more creative,
more humorous,
more entertaining,
more informative
Placing expectations on yourself
helps you to
rise to the challenge
and
knock down all obstacles
So live everyday
Live in the moment
If you do,
you will not falter
So dare to be great
cause the time is now
for you to share your words
and
all that you are
